Edith Farmer Edwards

MOULTRIE — Edith Farmer Edwards, 70, of 172 Industrial Drive, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Floral Gardens Cemetery in Albany with the Rev. Roger Benton officiating.

Mrs. Edwards was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Turner County to Walter Hamilton Farmer and Annie Priscilla McAlister Farmer, both deceased. She retired from Riverside Manufacturing Co., Moultrie, and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a past grand worthy matron and member of Naomi Chapter 139, Order of the Eastern Star, in Moultrie.

Survivors include two sons, Alan Edwards and wife Priss of Bay and Wayne Edwards and wife Tina of Orange Park, Fla.; a brother, G.H. Farmer of Covington; three sisters, Evelyn Sell of Moultrie, Janice James of Pelham and Emily Willis of Albany; and four grandchildren, Josh Stitely, Laura, Caitlin and Ethan Edwards.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home.

Grady Wendel “Red” Davis

MOULTRIE — Grady Wendel “Red” Davis, 73, of The Woodlands at Cobblestone, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Marshall Kennedy and the Rev. James Sellers will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Allegood, David Allegood, Tim Boutwell, Blake Boutwell, Gerald Willis and Darrell Tatum. Music will be by Mazie Ireland and Annie Ruth Bryant.

Mr. Davis was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Colquitt County to the late Zeldia Tatum Tyson and the late Lonnie Lee Davis. He retired from Moultrie Cotton Mill and was of the Holiness faith.

Survivors include his sister, Eunice Allegood and husband Weldon of Moultrie, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family may be contacted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Allegood, 1130 Bay Road.

Irvine E. “Rocky” McCall

MOULTRIE — Irvine E. “Rocky” McCall, 78, of 125 Tallokas Trails, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at his residence.

Among his survivors are his wife, Rosemary B. McCall; two sons, Curt McCall and Greg McCall; a daughter, Jan Henderson; and a brother, James F. McCall.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home.



Floyd Lee Ledford

MOULTRIE — Floyd Lee Ledford, 90, of Moultrie, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Sunrise Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with interment at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. The Rev. James Sellers will officiate. Casketbearers will be Randall Moore, David Grace, Tony Dupree, Geoffrey Moore and Daniel Grace.

Mr. Ledford was born May 28, 1912, in Lumpkin County, son of the late Catherine Edge Ledford and the late Jasper Wilburn Ledford. He was a retired farmer and a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Worls Ledford.

Survivors include two sons, Wallace Ledford and wife Kathy of Moultrie and Charles Ledford and wife Mary Ann of Killeen, Texas; four daughters, Pauline Hazelton of Moultrie, Lorene Pannell and husband Cecil of San Antonio, Texas, Betty Bennett and husband Fred of Monroe, and Judy Taylor and husband Chester of Hartsfield; three stepchildren, Paul Giles and wife June, Eula Purvis, and Emma Hall and husband Horace, all of Moultrie; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family may be contacted at the home of Wallace Ledford, 1178 Sumner Road.

Alvin Walter Futch Jr.

ELLENTON — Alvin Walter Futch Jr., 74, 134 N. Baker St., died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Garvie Nichols and the Rev. Lennon Howell officiatin

Mr. Futch was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Colquitt County to the late Amma Belle Brown, and the late Alvin W. Futch Sr. He was a banker and retired from Moultrie National Bank. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Ellenton Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Spearman Futch.

Survivors include one son, Dennis W. Futch and wife Angela of Moultrie; two daughters, Jeanne F. Davis and husband Donald of Ellenton and Debra F. Roland of Moultrie; four grandchildren, Katie Beth Roland, Hope Davis, Alex Futch and Alyse Futch; a special friend, Mrs. Bobbie Gordon; and his best friend, his dog Jake.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family may be contacted at the residence of Jeanne and Donald Davis, 104 W. Berrien Ave., Ellenton.
