Out of context
“To the person who challenge Charlie Reese for saying that a Christian would not advocate murder: Your reference to God wiping out people in the old Testament is totally out of context.
“Allow us to point out that your reference is before Christ came and brought us a ‘new covenant.'”
In response
“A news story in The Observer the other day was about some fellow in Indonesia saying that we shouldn’t be so hard on Bush because in the tsunami it took a while for relief efforts to get moving. Please remember that we are not a Third World county — yet. And such a slow response is not acceptable here.”
I like the idea
“I like the idea the ranter gave about bypassing the high school prom and just having a party of the regular guys and gals. How can we get this organized?”
Thanks
“I want to thank Helen Sewell and others of the Red Cross for the tremendous job they have done under very trying circumstances. You are definitely appreciated.”
The letter
“I especially liked the letter to the editor from the New Orleans newspaper man. Yes, you are a resilient people and you are our brothers and sisters.”
The game
“What’s this: Georgia squeaks by South Carolina? Like him or not, Steve Spurrier is going to make a game out of it.”
Back on TV
“It sure was nice to see the Dixie Chicks on TV. Many thought the Bush administration had rubbed them out. Goes to show how vindictive Bush is.”
Don’t be confused
“Bush is a victim of circumstances and the Democrats are having a field day with it. Support your president and don’t be confused with acts of nature and acts of man.”
Road paving
“You people think county commission can pave every road in the county at no cost to taxpayers. Do you ever go to the meetings and see how strapped we are for money?”
Nice place
“Real nice folks in Moultrie – I came down on the Parkview bus for the game. High school ball to me is more fun than college or pro. In most places the visitors’ stands are so low/short you can’t see the game well, including Parkview and Brookwood — not at your field, where both sides appear the same. Good move. Nice place.”
Bush haters
“Here is a fact for all you Bush haters. Of all the U.S. presidential candidates, President Bush received the most votes of any in history, with nearly 59 million Americans voting for him.”
