MOULTRIE — Mrs. Mandy Mae Carr Davis, 80, formerly of Moultrie died

Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at American Village Nursing Home.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Bethlehem Schley

Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Greene Jr. officiating. Burial will be

in Bethlehem Schley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronald Carr, Torreon

Stewart, Dale Williams and Gregory Bell.

Born Oct. 7, 1923, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the

late Anderson Carr and Verna Mae Brown Carr. She was married to Felton

Davis Jr.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Felton Davis Jr.; three daughters, Anne M.

Davis Bell and husband Willie of Moultrie, Mattie Davis Muriel of

Indianapolis, Ind. and Linda Davis Atkins and husband Homer of Los

Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Hattie Holton of Moultrie and Mary Frances

Patterson and husband William of Atlanta; three brothers, Elbert Carr

and wife Jewell, J.C. Carr and wife Alma, all of Moultrie, and John

Henry Carr of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Gregory Bell of

Virginia Beach, Va., Marvin Bell, U.S. Army, Savannah, Bernard Atkins

and Tangelia Atkins both of Los Angeles, Calif.; four

great-grandchildren, Chayla Ann Bell of Bronx, N.Y., Gianna Bell of

Virginia Beach, Va., Kamaar Bell and Shanasia Bell both of Moultrie; two

dear friends, Gussie Mae Thomas and Hattie Phillips both; and a host of

nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

The family may be contacted at home of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Bell, 2 Mimosa

Dr., Moultrie.

Luke Strong and Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.



Betty Jane Duncan Murphy

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. — Betty Jane Duncan Murphy, 64, of Morehead City,

N.C., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Cobb

Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tessie Betty Murphy and Everett

Duncan.

Survivors include her husband, Max Stanley Murphy of Morehead City, N.C.;

a son, Joey Max Murphy and wife LaTan of Atlanta; a daughter, Donna

Betty Murphy Gunter and husband Kevin of Atlanta; a brother, Herman

Willard Duncan and wife Jeanine Atlanta; sisters, Duriene Duncan Glenn

and husband Collins of Indiana, Cathirene Duncan Galloway and husband

Jimmy of Moultrie; sisters-in-law, Fay Duncan of Moultrie, Catherine

Duncan of Thomasville, Maureen Small and husband Hollis of Thomasville,

and Linda Allen; a brother-in-law, Randy Murphy and wife Joy of Atlanta;

mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruby and Carl Murphy of Moultrie;

grandchildren, Kyle, DaNae and Bryce Murphy, Ethan and Abby Gunter, all

of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
