Dollie Curles Sweat
THOMASVILLE — Dollie Curles Sweat, 64, of the Bryan Center in Thomasville, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Roy Hicks officiating.
Mrs. Sweat was born Oct. 2, 1942, in Colquitt County, daughter of the late Lillie Belle Knowles Curles and the late Green Berry Curles. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy F. Sweat; two brothers, Junior Curles and Barney Curles; and one sister, Alma Thompson.
Survivors include her son, Coy James Sweat and wife Helen of Moultrie; two brothers, Willie Curles and Ralph Curles, both of Albany; two sisters, Peggy Garrett of Moultrie and Hazel Sanders of Warm Springs, Ga.; three grandchildren, Michelle Sloan, Christie Sweat and Cody Sweat; and four great-grandchildren, Chase Craven, Gracie Farmer, Jayden Sloan and Josie Sloan.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, Dec. 22, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family may be contacted at 1910 West Blvd. in Moultrie.

Katherine Nadine “Kathy” Partain Browning
MOULTRIE — Katherine Nadine “Kathy” Partain Browning, 52, of Bethel Avenue in Moultrie, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with burial in Hartsfield Cemetery. The Rev. Eddie Dee will officiate.
Mrs. Browning was born Sept. 28, 1954, in Colquitt County to the late Ann Apperson Partain and the late Lee Partain. She was a homemaker and a member of Young Christian Crusade Church.
Survivors include her husband, Earnest Browning Jr.; one son, David L. Browning and wife Vonda of Homerville; one brother, Robert David Partain of Moultrie; two grandchildren, April Michelle Browning and Clint Thomas Browning.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. today, Dec. 22, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Beulah Lawson Murphy
COOLIDGE — Beulah Lawson Murphy, 88, of Bennett Road in Coolidge, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Woodlands Living Center in Moultrie.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 22, at Tyson United Methodist Church with burial in Murphy Cemetery. The Rev. Cecil Felts will officiate.
Mrs. Murphy was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Dooly County to the late Emma Musselwhite Lawson and the late Michael Augustus Lawson. She was a homemaker and a member of Tyson United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cecil Murphy.
Survivors include her sons, Buddy Murphy and wife Beverly of Buford, Ga., and Ken Murphy and wife Tanya of Tifton; one sister, Gertrude Cornelia Meadows of Winter Haven, Fla.; four grandchildren, Mark Murphy, Kris Murphy, Scott Murphy and Kyle Murphy; and five great-grandchildren, Austin Murphy, Sara Murphy, Kirsten Murphy, Madelleine Murphy and Hayden Murphy.
Family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.

Stephanie Hill
MOULTRIE — Stephanie Hill, 10, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at Egleston Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Rochelle Baptist Church with the Rev. Gail Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Pallbearers No. 2 Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Hill, Hope Molden Jr., Stacy Williams, Kelvin Walker, Bobby Arnold and Oscar Hill Jr. serving as pallbearers.
She was born Dec. 21, 1995, to Mr. Timothy Hill and Mrs. Barbara Hayes.
Survivors include her father, Timothy Hill and wife Phyllis M.; mother, Barbara Hayes and husband Ronny; four brothers, Eric Embry, Terrance Bryant, Corey Daniels and Wesley Daniels, all of Moultrie; a sister, Catherine Clifton and husband Linty of Kaphaeen, Ga.; a grandmother, Eudora Hill of Doerun; a grandfather, Roscoe Bryant of Baconton, Ga.; seven aunts; seven uncles; and a host of relatives.
Visitation will be today, Dec. 22, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary.

Z.L. Dixon
MOULTRIE — Z.L. Dixon, 76, of Moultrie died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Moultrie.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Luke Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Pallbearer No. 2 Cemetery with Tommy Cheevers, Robbie Brown, Willie Wilson, Johnny Wilson, Henry Dixon Jr., Antonio Brown and Kirby Stewart serving as pallbearers.
Born May 10, 1930, in Lauderdale County, Miss., he was the son of the late John Henry Dixon Jr. and the late Daisy Moss. He was a retired truck driver for the City of Moultrie.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters.
Survivors include a wife, Elizabeth Dixon of Moultrie; three daughters, Janet Jackson and husband Ken of Americus, Ga., Katherine Dixon of Lauderdale, Miss., and a stepdaughter, Vanessa Stewart of Moultrie; two sons, Henry Dixon Sr. and wife Emma of Moultrie and Corey Martin of Newark, N.J.; three stepsons, Kirby Stewart and wife Sharon of Quitman, Ga., Richard Stewart and Lester Wilson Jr., both of Moultrie; a sister, Easter Mae Spears of Meridian, Miss.; a special grandson, Henry Dixon Jr., and a special godson, Tommy Cheevers, both of Moultrie; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends and family at 409 MLK Jr. Drive, Apt. 401-A in Moultrie.

Earl Benson Smith
OZARK, Ala. — Earl Benson Smith, 81, of Ozark, Ala., died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, in Dale Medical Center in Ozark following an extended illness.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Pine Crest Memory Gardens in Moultrie with the Rev. Curtis Eason officiating. Interment will follow with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
He was born Jan. 23, 1925, to the late Belle O’Neal Smith and Howard R. Smith Sr. in Coolidge, Ga., where he grew up and worked on his family’s farm. He joined the United States Army and attended technical school training in Tampa, Fla. He met and married Jeanine Feroumont, his wife of 45 years, in Canada in the early 1950s. He was employed with Hayes Aircraft in the late 1950s, and then was employed with Combat Development at Fort Rucker, where he retired in the early 1980s. After his retirement he lived in Floral City, Fla., prior to moving back to Ozark, Ala. He was a proud veteran and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially quail hunting.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Smith Devane; and his brothers, Howard R. Smith Jr., Charles A. Smith and Dickie Smith.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Jose Canedo of Pine Mountain, Ga., Michelle and Tim Reeder of Clopton, Ala., and Kelly and Kenneth Moore of Ozark, Ala.; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard John and Pam Smith of Dothan, Ala.; one brother and sister-in-law, Dewitt and Jean Smith of Coolidge, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Betty Smith of Albany, Ga., and Izolda Smith of Fayetteville, Ga.; a special brother-in-law and his wife, Burch and Rosie Devane; grandchildren, Wesley Daniels, T. J. Reeder, Austin Reeder, Ben Moore and wife April, Shanna Smith Williams, Jonathan Earl Smith, Chad Holland and wife Pam, Crescent Huff and husband Brandon, and Victoria Canedo; great-grandchildren, Gavin Williams, Katie Holland and River Huff; and several nieces and nephews.

Amy Michelle Rowe Harper
MOULTRIE — Amy Michelle Rowe Harper, 45, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. A private burial will be at a later date.
Born Oct. 17, 1961, in Irwin County, Ga., she was the daughter of Elizabeth “Libby” Burgess Rowe of Ocilla, Ga., and the late Roy H. “Hank” Rowe. She was the office manager for Air Spray Service in Ocilla for ten years and an interior fashion lighting specialist with Varnell Struck and Associates for the past several years. Her territory included Florida and Georgia. She was a life-long animal activist and spent much of her spare time caring for and relocating abused and lost animals. She was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church in Ocilla. She spent most of her life in Irwin County but moved to Moultrie in 1995.
Survivors include her companion, L. Besaw of Moultrie; sons, Daniel Harper and wife Melissa of Tift County and Ronald Shane Harper of Moultrie; a daughter, Kristen Harper of Moultrie; sisters, Paula Shuman of Irwinville, Ga., and Karen O’Neal of Ocilla; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Harper of Clearwater, Fla., and Allison Ready of Moultrie; and two grandsons, Kyler Harper and Cody Harper, both of Tift County; and Ron Harper of Moultrie, father of Daniel, Ronald and Kristen.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 22, from 3 p.m. until the hour of the service.
