Willie James Banks
MOULTRIE — Willie James Banks, 43, of Moultrie died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. John W. Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Dunk Smith Cemetery in Doerun. Terry Stamper, Robert Aldridge, Michael Stamper, Eric Williams, Curz Stamper and Shawn Gamble will serve as pallbearers.
Born Feb. 18, 1963, in Colquitt County, Mr. Banks was the son of Ruby Dean Roberts Banks and the late Willie Lee Banks.
Survivors include a loving mother, Ruby Dean Roberts Banks of Moultrie; a sister, Christine Gamble of Atlanta; a brother, Jimmy Lee Keith of Moultrie; four special nieces, Donna Gamble, Pamela Gamble and Cherri Gamble, all of Moultrie, and Chasmine Williams of Atlanta; two special nephews, Christopher Gamble and Marcie Gamble Jr., both of Moultrie; several special aunts and uncles; and a host of relatives.

MOULTRIE — Leola J. Waldon, 98, of Moultrie died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Clara O’Connor
VALDOSTA — Clara O’Connor, 73 of Valdosta, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home chapel in Valdosta with the Rev. Richard Hart officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta.
Born Jan. 11, 1933, in Reevesville, Ill., Mrs. O’Connor was the daughter of the late Jack Troutt and the late Maude Renfro Troutt Ritchie. She was a homemaker, a devout Christian and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Valdosta.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris L. O’Connor; and a son, Timothy O’Connor.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen O’Connor and wife Carol of Tallahassee, Fla., and Shawn O’Connor and wife Karen of Hahira; a daughter, Beverly Giles and husband Ronald of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Lee O’Connor, J.G. O’Connor, Kelly O’Connor Dawkins, Rachael O’Connor and Meagen O’Connor; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Dawkins, Brianna Dawkins and Stephen O’Connor III; a daughter-in-law, Gigi O’Connor of Hamilton County, Fla.; and five brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the funeral home.

Nadine Truluck James “Mama Dean” Whitaker
PELHAM — Nadine Truluck James “Mama Dean” Whitaker of Pelham, formerly of Moultrie, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Parkway Nursing Home in Pelham.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Robinson officiating. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery. Rodney Truluck, Billy Truluck, Greg Jennings, Clay Edwards, Brian Daniels and Travis Edwards will served as casketbearers.
Born July 18, 1924, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Whitaker was the daughter of the late Doshie Nadine Johnson Truluck and the late Andrew Jackson Truluck. She was a seamstress at Riverside Manufacturing and a homemaker, and she was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Norman Park.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Roy James and Henry Whitaker.
Survivors include two sons, Noel Jackson Daniels of Hartsfield and James Orik Daniels and wife Gwen of Norman Park; a brother, Audie Truluck of Moultrie; three grandchildren, Lisa Daniels Anderson, Serina Lee Daniels and Bryan Daniels; and four great-grandchildren, Randall Jackson Anderson, Randall Corey Anderson, Hayden James Daniels and Cameron Eli Daniels.

Martha Hilda Kent Saturday
MOULTRIE — Martha Hilda Kent Saturday, 78, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at Woodlands Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Michael Farmer officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. James Phillips, Chester Ellison, Jimmy Hiers, Larry Wimberly, Gary Suber and Shelly Cook will serve as casketbearers.
Born Jan. 26, 1928, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Saturday was the daughter of the late Ida Croft Kent and the late Luther Kent. She was retired from Saturday’s Clothing, a family business, and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Saturday Jr.; a son, Kenneth Michael Saturday; a brother, Eugene Kent; a sister, Dorothy Reynolds; and two grandchildren, Suzanne Saturday and Michael Saturday.
Survivors include two sons, David Saturday and Randy Saturday and wife Carol, all of Moultrie; three grandchildren, Chris Saturday and Ben Saturday, both of Valdosta, and Kimberly Saturday of Moultrie; and a great-grandchild, William Harrison of Pollock, La.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the funeral home.

James Leo Derden
FUNSTON — James Leo Derden, 83, of Funston died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at Funston Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Shiver officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Nephews of Mr. Derden will serve as casketbearers.
Born March 13, 1923, Mr. Derden was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fonzo Derden. He was a retired soil conservationist with the U.S. Department of Fish and Game.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Holloway Derden; and a sister, Lavonne Wilson.
Survivors include a twin sister, Cleo Walker of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Ruby Murphy and husband Carl of Moultrie and Coleen Cravey of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two stepsisters, Laura Smith of Columbia, S.C., and Marge Shubert of Valdosta; two nieces, Gail Norman and husband Edwin of Norman Park and Betty Ledbetter of Marietta; two nephews, Jerry Wilson and wife Linda of Moultrie and Billy Wilson and wife Ann of Hartsfield; and many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at Funston Baptist Church.

OCALA, Fla. — Ronald James Stone, 84, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Moultrie, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at his daughter’s home in Ocala.
