Antonio Davis

MOULTRIE — Antonio Davis, 17, of Moultrie, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Luke officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2 with Quentin Jackson, Terrance Vicks, Kelvin Brown, Travis Wilson, Tavarius Vicks and Tony Wilson serving as pallbearers.

Born May 24, 1989, in Jacksonville, Fla., he was the son of Tyronne Davis and Carolyn Edwards.

He is also survived by a stepfather, Kelvin Brown of Moultrie; three sisters, Rechelle Davis and friend Terrance Vicks, LaTasha Davis and LeTeshia Davis, all of Moultrie; grandfather, George Edwards of Moultrie; great-grandfather, O.C. Edwards of Moultrie; special friend, Subrina Dawson of Moultrie; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ruby Gooch Hancock

ADEL, Ga. — Ruby Gooch Hancock, 75, of Adel died Oct. 2, 2006, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Springhead Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends tonight, Oct. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South.

Franklin Lamar Edwards

MOULTRIE — Franklin Lamar Edwards, 73, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James “Shot” Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The staff of Waffle House and friends will serve as honorary escorts.

Born Oct. 15, 1932, in Swainsboro, Mr. Edwards was the son of the late Emma Minchew Edwards and the late Ray Eugene Edwards. He was a telephone installer with Southern Bell and was a member of the VFW Post 4830 and Disabled American Veterans. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the United States Army, and was the recipient of a Purple Heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Nell Davis Edwards of Moultrie; three sons, Timmy Edwards and wife Kim and Tommy Edwards and wife Pam, all of Moultrie, and Pete Harper of Oklahoma; two daughters, Diane Sellers and husband Billy and Ann Edwards, all of Moultrie; a brother, Ray Edwards of Moultrie; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the VFW Post 4830.
