Divers prepared for Junior Nationals

MOULTRIE — Moss Farms Diving coach Ed Goodman and four of his Tigers have had to take some extra clothes and book their hotel rooms in Indianapolis for another week.
The 2006 Speedo Junior National Diving Championships get under way today at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis and run through Sunday.
Seven Diving Tigers — Kelsey Goodman, Ann Perry Blank, Ali Lepech, Anna Aguero, Owen Blank, Hannah Moore and Ryan Helms — will be competing.
Aguero, Goodman, Helms and Moore will remain in town to compete in the Senior National Diving Championships that will begin next Wednesday in the same pool.
All have chances to reach top finishes in USA Diving’s top events for junior and senior divers.
Divers qualified for the Junior Nationals at the Summer East Championships held in Moultrie earlier this month.
The divers heading to Senior Nationals qualified at a Zone competition in The Woodlands, Texas, 10 days ago.
Lepech and Ann Perry Blank will be the first in the water for the Moss Farms Junior Nationals team when they compete in the 14-15 girls platform event that begins with prelims at 9 this morning.
Finals will be held this afternoon.
The 13-and-under boys 1-meter, 13-and-under girls 3-meter and 14-15 boys platform events also will be held today.
Aguero and Moore will compete in their first event at 9 a.m. Thursday when they take part in the 16-18 girls 3-meter prelims.
Helms will compete in the 16-18 boys 1-meter event that begins at 11 a.m. Thursday. Helms took the gold medal in the event in the Summer East Champiosnhips.
On Friday, Lepech, Ann Perry Blank and Kelsey Goodman will compete in teh 14-15 girls 1-meter event, which begin with prelims at 11 a.m.
Aguero and Moore will take part in teh 1-meter competition, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
At the same time, Helms will be competing in the 16-18 boys 3-meter.
At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, diving will begin inthe 14-15 girls 3-meter with Goodman and Lepech in the field.
Owen Blank will finally get in the water at 8:30 a.m. Sunday when he and Helms take part in the 16-18 boys platform competition.
Aguero and Moore will compete in the final event of the Junior Nationals, the 16-18 girls platform.
