MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County High girls track team traveled to Valdosta on Thursday for the Region 1-AAAAA prelims.

Nikki Hudson was sixth in the discus with a throw of 88 feet, 2 inches.

Tiffany Troupe threw the shot 29 feet and also placed sixth.

Tiney Palmore qualified for the finals in 100-meter dash.

Shafonia Williams qualified in the 400 meters.

Shukevia Sims qualified in the 200 meters.

Jeleesa Holloway and Letauria Peacock both qualified in the 800 meters.

Freshman Nicole Thomas qualified for the finals in both the 100 and 300-meter hurdles.

And both the 4×100-meter and 4×400-meter relay teams qualified for the finals.

The finals will be held on Tuesday at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany.

The girls state track meet for all classifications will be held May 4-6 at Hugh Mills Stadium.

The Colquitt County boys track team will take part in region prelims on Thursday, April 27. The boys finals are May 2.

The boys state track meet will be held held for all classifications on May 11-13 in Jefferson.
