MOULTRIE — The meeting between the last two undefeated Region 1-AAAAA girls soccer teams has been postponed — but just for one night.
Tift County will come to Mack Tharpe Stadium at Tom White Field for a pair of region matchups on Wednesday, rather than today, as originally scheduled.
The girls match will start at 5:30 p.m. The boys will play at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Packers and Lady Devils are both 3-0 in the region.
Tift’s girls have not lost in six matches this season. The Lady Packer lost their season-opener to Warner Robins, but have won eight straight since then.
Tthe Colquitt County baseball and tennis teams will be in action today to continue a busy sports week.
The tennis teams will have a chance today to avenge a pair of losses to Bainbridge. Both the Packers and Lady Packers had split their first two matches in the Tifton Rotary Tournament the day before being meeting the Bearcats and Lady Bearcats on March 5 for a shot at third place in the tournament. Both teams fell 2-3.
The Lady Packers have won two in a row since then and are now 6-2 on the season. The Packers are 1-7.
The tennis teams will play a Region 1-AAAAA match at Valdosta beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday.
The Colquitt County baseball team will travel to Bainbridge and will try to end a five-game losing streak when it meets the Bearcats at 6 tonight.
The Packers will be at Ike Aultman Field at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday to play Thomas County Central
The Colquitt County rifle team will take part in the Area 2 championship at 5 p.m. Thursday at Turner County.
The junior varsity soccer teams will travel to Valdosta for matches at 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday.
On Friday, the gymnastics team will participate in its first competition of the season at 5:30 p.m. at the Thomasville YMCA. The soccer teams will go to Valdosta; the baseball team to Westover; and the tennis teams to Houston County.
