Dorothy Jean Collings McConahey
MOULTRIE — Dorothy Jean Collings McConahey, 86, of Second Street Southeast in Moultrie, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Woodlands Living Center.
Graveside rites will be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 21, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. J.E. Moak officiating.
Mrs. McConahey was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Danville, Ill., daughter of the late Marvel Hill Collings and the late Gilbert Collings. She was a retired teacher at Highland Park Elementary in Illinois.
She is survived by her husband, John A. McConahey of Moultrie.

William Herman Boyett
MOULTRIE — William Herman Boyett, 77, of 12th Street Southeast in Moultrie, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, in Sylvester.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Temple Baptist Church with burial at Murphy Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Webb and the Rev. Stephen Massey will officiate. Casketbearers will be Allan Boyett, Alan Whitaker, Bharat Patel, Josh Boyett, Shane Smith and Chris Boyett. Honorary casketbearers will be David Norton, John Massey, Jerry Clayton and Jeff Young.
Mr. Boyett was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Sumter County, Fla., to the late Margaret Avery Burgess Boyett and the late Oscar Herman Boyett. He worked in maintenance at Hutson Motor Co. and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Nell Boyett of Moultrie; two sons, Steve Boyett and wife Amy and Bill Boyett and wife Kathy, all of Sylvester; one sister, Grace Clayton and husband Jerry of Moultrie; and three grandchildren, Chris Boyett and wife Candace, Allan Boyett and Josh Boyett.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church Benevolence Ministry.

Willie B. Johnson
DOERUN — Willie B. Johnson, 81, of 235 Kings Road, Doerun, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at Grant AME Church with the Rev. Eric McBurrows officiating, assisted by the Rev. Florence A. Bankston. Burial will follow at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Mitchell County. Grandsons of Mr. Johnson will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 27, 1925, in Hahira, Brooks County, Ga., Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Bosie Johnson and the late Lottie Johnson Daniels.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robert Lee Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Lee Johnson of Doerun; four sons, Willie James Johnson and wife Queen of Delray Beach, Fla., Lemmett Johnson and wife Cookie of Lake Worth, Fla., Felix Andrew Johnson and wife Jeanette of Atlanta and Jeremiah Johnson and wife Debbie of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; seven daughters, Dorothy Merritt, Claretha Ruff and husband Lester, and Mary J. Smith, all of Augusta, Ga., Rosie Smith and Shirley Omokaro, both of Moultrie, and Barbara Lee and husband Frank and Eretha Coldwell and husband David, all of Atlanta; a brother, Kenneth Johnson of Atlanta; four sisters, Beatrice Lane of Pompano Beach, Fla., Ruby Hudson of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., and Mary Alice Cooper and Willie Pearl Ingram, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; special cousins Bob Gibson and Elmer Gibson, both of Doerun; 30 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 21, at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at the home of Rosie Smith at 1312 11th St. S.W.

MOULTRIE — Datie Mae Wilson McCloud, 85, of West Central Avenue in Moultrie, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at her residence.

Mack F. Pyles Sr.
BERLIN — Mack F. Pyles Sr., 73, of Brice Street in Berlin, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at Harrell-Faircloth Chapel with burial at Sardis Cemetery. The Rev. Stanley Norman will officiate. Casketbearers will be Tony Cato, Larry Cato, Clyde Stafford, Mark Bridwell, Charlie Fields and Ronald Davis.
Mr. Pyles was born March 29, 1933, in Colquitt County to the late John Wesley Pyles and the late Hattie Croft Pyles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Chevron Oil Co.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Browning Pyles of Berlin; one son, Mac F. Pyles Jr. of Berlin; one daughter, Diane Pyles Gaines and husband Gary of Norman Park; his mother-in-law, Rachel Browning of Moultrie; one sister, Ida Belle Stafford of Moultrie; five grandchildren, Misty Pyles, Mandy Gaines, Jessica Sparkman, Lindsey Pyles and Ryan Pyles; seven great-grandchildren, Kyle Turner, Hannah Pyles, Hunter Carver, Raven Hamilton, Dalton Sapp, Tucker Sparkman and Riley Kate Pyles; and two special friends, Pete Ingram and Robert Norman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin L. Pyles; and four sisters, Gladys Hiers, Kathleen Davis, Dora Davis and Opal Manning.

Charlie Dunbar Jr.
THOMASVILLE — Services for Charlie Dunbar Jr., 71, 1233 Crowley Road, Thomasville, are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 110 W. Calhoun St., with the Rev. I.L. Mullins, pastor, and the Rev. Kenneth L. Boyd Sr., presiding pastor of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, and the Rev. E.H. Hopkins, eulogist and pastor of Mother Easter Missionary Baptist Church at Moultrie officiating.
Active pallbearers are nephews. Honorary pallbearers are the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church Deacon Ministry.
A Thomas County native, Mr. Dunbar had lived here all his life. He served in the U.S. Army in 1954, and was honorably discharged. He was proprietor of Dunbar’s Bar-B-Que and Catering Services. He was born Feb. 25, 1935, a son of the late Charlie Dunbar Sr. and Ida Ray Dunbar. He was married to the former Arleatha Jane Hopkins. Mr. Dunbar was an adult Sunday school teacher, on the Senior Usher Board, in the Senior Choir, the Male Choir and on the Trustee Board. He was a deacon at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church and a 1954 graduate of Douglass High School.
Mr. Dunbar is survived by his wife, Arleatha Jane Hopkins Dunbar, Thomasville; son, the Rev. Paul L. Dunbar (Sandra), Warner Robins; daughter, Natalie Sullivan (Marvin), Thomasville; sons, Rev. Charlie Dunbar III (Altheia), Thomasville, and Larry Dunbar, (Danielle) Warner Robins; sisters, Jessie Lee Robinson (Collins), Thomasville, Sarah Perkins (Floyd), Thomasville, Mary L. Virgil (Leo), Thomasville, Ida M. Mack (William), Freeport, Long Island, N.Y., Hattie B. Johnson (Author), Albany, and Martha F. Viewing will be at the funeral home Monday from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from noon until the services. The procession will assemble at the residence Tuesday at 12:45 p.m.
