Annie Pearl Nunn

MOULTRIE — Annie Pearl Nunn, 71, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at her residence, 820 Joe Louis Ave. in Moultrie.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at the St. James Pallbearers No. 2. Grandsons of Mrs. Nunn will serve as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Nunn was born June 7, 1925, to the late Queen Mae Leggett in Baltimore, Md. She was married to the late A.C. Nunn. She also retired from Carriage Cleaners in Moultrie and was a member of New Life Fellowship Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.C. Nunn; one son, Robert Hayes Jr.; and one brother, Frank Leggett.

Survivors include one son, Michael Nunn of Moultrie; two daughters, Diane Nunn and Lillian Nunn, both of Moultrie; three brothers, Bobby Leggett and Joseph Leggett and wife Carolyn, all of Moultrie, and Tommy Leggett of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at 820 Joe Louis Ave.

Damaris Whitehurst Patterson

MOULTRIE — Damaris Whitehurst Patterson, age 78, of Moultrie, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Graveside rites will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating.

Born Sept. 5, 1928, in Early County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Roy L. Whitehurst and Dena Turner Whitehurst. Mrs. Patterson was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Herbert “Pat” Patterson, and a brother, R. Onley Whitehurst

Survivors include a son, Mike Patterson and wife Connie of Moultrie; a daughter, Linda Sue Simpson and husband Danny of Moultrie; a brother, Jan L. Whitehurst of Tryon, N.C.; a sister, Judy Whitehurst Lacy of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jeffery Michael Patterson, Carol Patterson Floyd, Raymond Simpson, Jason Simpson and Brooke Ellis Wingate; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Jo Patterson, Connor Garrett Patterson, Evan Patterson Floyd and Garron Joe Wingate.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mike and Connie Patterson, 3028 Georgia Highway 33 North, Moultrie.

Judy Gail Anderson

MOULTRIE — Judy Gail Anderson, 58, of Hidden Acres in Moultrie, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with burial in Oak Dale Cemetery. The Rev. Curtis Fason will officiate, and the men of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Anderson was born Jan. 26, 1949, in Fulton County, daughter of the late Vera Tucker Farmer and the late Paul S. Farmer Sr. She was retired and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy O’Kelley and husband Charles of Moultrie; one brother, Rodney Quinton Farmer and wife Patsy of Moultrie; and two grandchildren, Zachary O’Kelley and Nathan O’Kelley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul S. Farmer Jr.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today, Feb. 25, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family may be contacted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Farmer, 1070 Ga. Highway 33 South.

Clifton Vernon “C.V.” Brown Sr.

MOULTRIE — Clifton Vernon “C.V.” Brown Sr., age 89, of 227 Second Ave. S.E., died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at his home.

Graveside rites will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Doerun Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Mahan and the Rev. J.E. Moak officiating.

Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Born June 10, 1917, in Mitchell County, Ga., Mr. Brown was the son of the late Joseph Earl Brown and Bonnie Pearl Strickland Brown. He was an insurance agent in Colquitt County for many years. Mr. Brown was a member of Colquitt County Band Boosters and the Civitan Club and was a long time member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Wynona Swain Brown and Ruth Lewis McCracken Brown; sisters, Christine Martin, Willodean Flournoy and Juanita Boyette; and a brother, Joe Brown.

Survivors include one son, Vernon Brown Jr. and wife Becky of Jacksonville, Fla.; four daughters, Eleanor Sorrell, Judy Stringfellow and husband Gene, Doris Roberts and husband Wayne, all of Moultrie, and Sue Suggs and husband Ronnie of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; one brother, Andy Brown of Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters, Josie Chapman of Mulberry, Fla., Mary Faye Rodenhaver of Auburndale, Fla., and Peggy Waller of Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Lt. Col. Steven Sorrell of the U.S. Army, Larry Sorrell, Gary Sorrell, Dennis Brown, Kurt Stringfellow, Jill Stringfellow, Jennifer Neighbors, Ronda Duncan and Chad Roberts; 13 great-grandchildren, Trevor Sorrell, Paul Sorrell, Kendall Sorrell, Katie Sorrell, Allyson Sorrell, Robyn Sorrell, D.J. Brown, Annabelle Roberts, Lewis Stringfellow, Lauren Neighbors, Taylor Neighbors, Chandler Duncan and Bentlee Duncan.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Joan Christian Stapp Cravey

MOULTRIE — Joan Christian Stapp Cravey, 51, of Tompkins Road in Moultrie, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Southside Baptist Church with burial in Southside Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. James Sellers and the Rev. Phillip Robinson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lewis Medley, Wesley Key, Mike Mercer, Willie Cravey, Andy Royal, Victor Royal, Garnett Chastain and Chris Bryant.

Mrs. Cravey was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Morgan County to Ellen Ardell Turner Stapp and the late William Thomas Stapp. She was a nurse and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Douglas Cravey; her mother, Ellen Ardell Turner Stapp; two brothers, Tommy Stapp and wife Betty of Atlanta and Robert Stapp and wife Tammy of Charlotte, N.C.; and one sister, Linda Rhodes of Moultrie.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, Feb. 25, at Baker Funeral Home.

Frances R. Moore

SPARKS — Frances R. Moore, 78, of Sparks, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Memorial Hospital of Adel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at the chapel of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home in Adel. The Rev. John Hendley will officiate, and burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Among her survivors are one son, Joseph Ben Moore III of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Frances and Dempsey Rowe and Monnie M. and Charlie Womack, all of Adel; one brother, F.C. King of Thomasville; and five sisters, Mary Bell Duncan of Boston, Ga., Myrtice Wilson, June Harris and Ann Wilson, all of Thomasville, and Emily Carnahan of Ellijay, Ga.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today, Feb. 25, at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home on Highway 41 South in Adel.

Clara Shiver Allegood Giles

LIZELLA — Clara Shiver Allegood Giles died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Lizella Baptist Church with the committal service to be at 4 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Camilla.

Mrs. Giles was born in Mitchell County to the late Charles O. and Annie Ruth Shiver. She lived most of her younger days in Moultrie while she lived the remainder in Bibb County. She was a faithful member of Lizella Baptist Church and was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Wynder “Stem” Giles of Lizella; sons, Steve Allegood and wife Dianne of Moultrie and Mike Allegood of Macon; stepsons, Larry Giles of Brunswick, Ga., and Mike Marshall of Arlington, Texas; stepdaughters, Dottie Goff of Moultrie and Tonia Giles of Doerun; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Lizella Baptist Church Building Fund, 2950 S. Lizella Road, Lizella, GA 31052.

The family will greet friends on Monday, Feb. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
