MOULTRIE — A Doerun woman was apprehended after she allegedly got into a fight with her boyfriend at Wal-Mart Thursday night.

Victoria Howard, 25, of 217 N. Jones St. in Doerun, was charged Thursday with cruelty to children (third degree) and disorderly conduct.

An officer was called to Wal-Mart on South Veterans Parkway at 8:38 p.m. Thursday and spoke with a witness to the alleged incident. The witness stated she saw Howard allegedly hitting, pushing and yelling at a black male.

The witness stated the boyfriend was holding a child as Howard allegedly hit him. The child was also allegedly hit during the altercation.

After speaking with the witness, the officer went inside Wal-Mart and found Howard with the child. He asked what happened, and Howard stated she had been fighting with her boyfriend.

The officer asked how the child was scratched in the forehead, and Howard stated he hit him by accident during the incident. When Howard was taken outside the store, she allegedly became upset and stated, “Go ahead, if you want my baby, take him then.”

The child was taken, and Howard was placed under arrest and taken to Colquitt County Jail. The child was turned over to Howard’s parents by the Department of Family and Children Services.

• William Richard Gandy, 49, of 1089 R.L. Norman Road, was charged Monday with public drunkenness and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

• Grady Blakely, 41, of 605 Second St. S.W., was charged Monday with duty to obey an officer, lights required and public drunkenness.



Colquitt County S.O.

• Amos Lamar Goram, 41, of 314 First Ave. S.W., was charged Monday with a child support violation.

• Christy Leigh Parks, 19, of 600 Holiday St. in Adel, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct.

• Tabatha Renee McClelland, 31, of 3508 Sylvester Drive, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct.

Moultrie Police

• John Norman reported a thief stole a Pioneer radio from an unlocked truck cab while it was parked at Crop Production Services on North Main Street between 2 p.m. Saturday and 7:42 a.m. Monday. The value of the stolen radio was $100.

• Becky Hancock reported Monday a thief stole a diamond wedding band, a diamond engagement ring, a diamond anniversary ring and a birthstone ring from her former house on West Boulevard between Sept. 27 and Sept. 28. The value of the stolen rings was $1,900.

• Corby Ryce, of Quiet Cove, reported a thief stole a Phillips 42-inch television Monday. The value of the stolen television was $2,000.



Colquitt County S.O.

• Shena Todd, of McGinty Road, reported a thief stole a Kodak digital camera, a camera case, a battery charger, a camera program, five memory cards, a camera insert and four batteries between 10 a.m. Nov. 12 and 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen items was $455. Todd gave sheriff’s deputies the names of two male suspects.

• An employee at Triangle Furniture on Industrial Drive reported Monday a known female customer wrote a check to purchase furniture Sept. 12. The check, written for $3,028, was returned for insufficient funds.
