Lazarus gets eighth Farm League win

MOULTRIE — Lazarus got two hits each from Houston Massey and Dontae Barfield in a 9-6 Farm League victory over Rocky’s on Monday at the Magnolia Sports Complex.
The victory raises Lazarus’ record to 8-3-1.
Rocky’s, which got three hits each from Tyler Pifer and Rakeem Hightower and two from Parker Hoes, falls to 2-10.
In Tuesday’s other Farm League game, McAlpin Signs defeated Ameris 12-9.
Louis Comer and Taylor Horne each had three hits and Chase Godwin, Alex Price, Robert Taylor and Wesley Singletary each had two for McAlpin Signs, now 4-7-1.
Ryan Pipkin went 4-for-4, Nathan Mercer and Devin Day each had three hits and Will Roberts, Nick Harper, Garrett May, Hudson May and Kenneth Crosby each had two for Ameris, 5-7.
In Tiny Mites action, Larry’s Bait and Tackle won over Quality Employment 17-4 and Southwest Georgia Bank defeated Pizza Inn 10-8.
Quality Employment remains unbeaten in the Pony League after a 12-2 victory over Southwest Georgia Bank on Monday.
Russell Hanson was the winning pitcher and Cole Pitts, Mark Lindsey, Matt Lindsey and Matthew Deal each had two hits for Quality Employment, which is now 10-0 and has already clinched the league championship.
Southwest Georgia Bank falls to 2-9.
In Monday’s other Pony League game, Clements Pools defeated Ameris 12-8.
Shelton Lott was the winning pitcher. Brandon Sellers and Blake Stamps each had three hits and Stephen Moore and Tyler Powell each had two for Clements Pools, now 5-5
Jacob Tompkins had three hits, including a home run, and Tyler Brown, Alex Littleton and Tyroni Walker each added two hits for Ameris, 4-5.
Matt Gerald was the winning pitcher as Ameris defeated Edwards Motors 4-2 in Monday’s Midget League action.
Caleb Brown and Eli Crosby each had two hits for Ameris, now 7-5. Edwards falls to 0-12.
In Monday’s other Midget League game, Quality Employment edged Harper-McCall 8-7 in extra innings.
Zack Saunders was the winning pitcher. Cody Carr had three hits and Darryl Williamson had two for Quality Employment, now 6-6. Mack Hathcock and Matthew Wilkerson each had two hits for Harper-McCall, 5-8.
