Market, Mobley get Midget victories

MOULTRIE — Market Barbecue and Mobley Plant got Midget League victories on Monday at the Magnolia Complex to raise their records to 5-2.
Mobley had little trouble with Quality Employment, winning 11-1.
Weston Cox went the distance on the mound to get the win and Garrett Pearce, Aubrey McCarty and Ross Goforth each had two hits for Mobley Plant.
Quality Employment falls to 2-5.
Blake Bennett was the winning pitcher and contributed two hits as Market Barbecue defeated Ameris 6-3 for its fourth win in a row. Ameris falls to 3-4.
In Farm League play on Monday, Custom Cabinet s remains undefeated after knocking off Rocky’s 10-5.
Adam Merritt, Ryan Chatman, George Zeanah and John Buck Eunice each had three hits and Jared Soyke added two hits for Custom Cabinets, 6-0.
Tyler Pifer, Kodi Bishop, Kyle Ashley and Morgan Hart each had two hits.
In Monday’s other Farm League game, Random Design defeated Southwest Georgia Bank 14-2.
Chad Jacobs and Tristan Wells each had three hits and Alex Johnson, Demetrius Walker, Jim Waldrop, Mark Walden, Hunter Presley and Lyman Hinson each had two hits for Random Design, now 3-3.
Warren Funderburk had two hits for Southwest Georgia Bank, 0-6.
In Monday’s Pony League action, Ameris climbed over .500 wit ha 6-1 victory over VFW.
Tyler Brown was the winning pitcher and Jacob Tompkins had two hits, including a home run, for Ameris, now 3-2. VFW falls to 2-4.
Southwest Georgia Bank defeated Clements Pools14-2 in Monday’s other Pony League game.
Zac Goodno was he winning pitcher and Payne Newsome and Jimmy Skeen each had two hits for Southwest Georgia Bank, 2-4.
Stephen Moore had two hits for Clements Pools, also 2-4.
In Tiny Mites on Monday, Mprints defeated Pizza Inn 19-11 and Holman Supply won over Mobley Plant 10-4.
