Grand jury indicts 3 in gaming machine cases

Operators of two county businesses who are accused of operating illegal gambling machines were among those indicted last week by a Colquitt County grand jury.

Robert Scott and Catherine Cannon of the Funky Monkey, 220-A Ga. Hwy. 33, were each indicted on counts of violation of the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commercial gambling information, and three counts of possession of a gambling device.

In a separate indictment, Terry Glenn Hall, owner of T-Halls, 132 S. Main St., was indicted on counts of RICO violation, commercial gambling, communicating gambling information and four counts of possession of a gambling device.

All are accused of racketeering activity, earning money through the operation and participation in a place of gambling, and communicating to others gambling information.

The alleged activity took place between May 31, 2010, and June 24 at the Funky Monkey, and between April 13, 2010, and June 24 at T-Halls, the indictments said.

• Darious Alexander Mims, 27, Colquitt County Correctional Institution; possession of a telecommunications device by an inmate.

• Jose Gonzalez Pena, 68, 362 Big Bear Blvd., Norman Park; two counts child molestation.

• Zeferino V. Villanueva, 25, 2911 Sylvester Drive; aggravated assault on a peace officer, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, theft by receiving stolen property, interference with government property, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, three counts failure to stop at stop sign.

• Christopher Michael Castleberry Jr., 39; two counts theft by receiving.

• Matthew Todd Self; two counts theft by receiving stolen property.

• Steven Brian Fortson, 424 Son Norman Road; ten counts forgery. In a separate indictment: forgery, theft by taking.

• Racieh Jamar Robinson, 25, 1116 Gene McQueen Road; Ladarrian Domonique Simpson, 19, 1957 Sylvester Highway; and Kainana Williams, 1032 Second Ave. N.W.; two counts burglary, criminal attempt to commit a felony, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Simpson only: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

• Jason McClelland and Andrea D. Dent; four counts theft by taking, three counts burglary.

• Angela Renee Allen, 30, 409 Seminole Drive.; three counts child molestation, two counts statutory rape.

• Kip Shawn Raynor, 20, and Shelly L. McMillan, 18, both of 9939 Walker Road, Albany; theft by receiving stolen property.

• Jacinto H. Garcia, 30, 35 Circle Road; aggravated assault.

• James R. Stanfill, also known as Jim Stanfill; theft by taking.

• Jamie Dwayne Prosser, 23, 160 Mark Orton Lane, Norman Park; Ashlee N. Jones and Kassandra M. Murphy; burglary.

• Woody M. Weeks, 2751 Cool Springs Road, Norman Park; terroristic threats.

• Antonio B. Wise, 24, 512 Seventh Ave. S.E.; criminal damage to property, two counts fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving on the wrong side of roadway, disregarding traffic control device, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, three counts failure to stop at stop sign, improper turn at intersection, speeding.
