MOULTRIE — Although it has clinched the Pony League championship, Quality Employment saw its undefeated season in jeopardy when Ameris took a 5-0 lead in the top of third inning on Tuesday at the Magnolia Complex.

But Quality Employment scored six in the bottom of the third, including four on a grand slam by Austin Dykes, and went on to an 8-6 victory.

Vann Pitts got the win for Quality Employment, now 14-0.

Alex Littleton and Andrew Carlton each had two hits, including a home run, and Blake Seagers also had two hits for Ameris, now 8-6.

Bryce Giddens had three hits and Aubrey McCarty hit a home run to lead VFW to an 11-7 victory over Clements Pools in Tuesday’s other Pony League game.

Winning pitcher Dillon Presley, Drew Marchant, Brett Smith and Jimmy Skeen had two hits for VFW, now 9-4.

Jim Harrison had two hits for Clements Pools.

The outcomes of the two Farm League games resulted in a three-way tie for first place the league standings.

McAlpin Signs defeated Custom Cabinets 11-7 leaving both teams with 9-3 records.

Aaron Johnson and Geoffrey Zeigler each had three hits and Wesley Singletary, Noah Moore, Robert Taylor and Billy Wayne Smith each had two for McAlpin Signs.

Joseph Gould, Clayton Brooks and Taylor Buckner each had two hits for Custom Cabinets.

Lazarus had a chance to take sole possession of first place, but fell to Farm Bureau 10-9.

Farm Bureau, in winning just its third game of the season, got three hits from Tyler Spires, Lane Goodroe and Gage Kent.

Lazarus, now 9-3, got three hits each from Kevin Hall and Codi Noble and two hits from Houston Massey and Zane Hogan.

John Gray homered twice to back up the pitching of Mack Hathcock as Harper-McCall took a 13-2 Midget League victory over Southwest Georgia Bank on Tuesday. Gray and Jacob Flinchum each had three hits and Warren Funderburk added two for Harper-McCall, which raised its record to 11-1-1.

Ameris raised its record to 10-3 with a 7-2 victory over Quality Employment in Tuesday’s other Midget League game.

Gabe Mobley got the win and received offensive support from Daniel Mobley, who homered, and Cambrick Taylor, who had two hits.

Kyle Ashley and Austin Hunnicutt each had two hits for Quality Employment.

In Tuesday’s Tiny Mites, Quality Employment defeated Baell Mercantile 11-8 and Southwest Georgia Bank won over Holman Supply 13-5.
