Ameris remains unbeaten in Midget League

MOULTRIE — It took extra innings, but Ameris kept it Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department Midget League record spotless on Friday with a 7-6 victory over Southwest Georgia Bank.
Gabe Mobley was the winning pitcher and Jay Tolbert had three hits for Ameris, which raised its record to 4-0.
Ryan Pipkin had two hits for Southwest Georgia Bank, now 0-3-1.
Harper-McCall also remains unbeaten after defeating Davis Insurance 14-2 in Friday’s other Midget League game.
Jonah Bozeman was the winning pitcher and he got some long-ball help.
John Gray hit a pair of home runs and Jacob Flinchum had a grand slam.
Bozeman aided his own case with three hits while teammates Nick Nichols and Mack Hathcock each had two hits for Harper-McCall, now 3-0-1.
Davis Insurance falls to 1-3.
McAlpin Signs joins Lazarus atop the Farm League standings with a 4-0 record after defeating Custom Cabinets 7-5 on Friday.
Robert Taylor, Cody Mullis and Austin Singletary each had two hits for McAlpin Signs.
Joseph Gould had three hits and Jared Soyke and George Zeanah each had two for Custom Cabinets, now 2-2.
Wendy’s got its first victory of the Farm League season on Friay with it defeated Ameris 8-4.
Jaquon Blakely had three hits and Bobby Edwards, Savaonta Slaughter and Michael Coates each had two for Wendy’s, now 1-3.
Owen Harrell, Hayden Suggs, Ian Brinson, Joseph Withrow and Walter Weeks each had two hits for Ameris, also 1-3.
In Friday’s Tiny Mites action, Mattco defeated Stone’s 19-9 and Southwest Georgia Bank won over Holman Supply 15-1.
