Council meets tonight

MOULTRIE — At its first of two scheduled meetings in December, the Moultrie City Council will discuss a variety of issues. Among those are:
• Holding a presentation for teacher Carmine Gonzales and other faculty members in recognition of the Elliott Galloway School 40th Anniversary and Founder’s Day.
• Considering a quit claim deed between the city and Christine Alderman, Toni A. Kinsey and Luke Strong as trustees of the St. James Pallbearers Society regarding St. James Cemetery No. 1 and St. James Cemetery No. 2.
• Awarding a bid/quote for the Moultrie Police Department’s radio communications project, paid for through a 2009 COPS Technology Grant with no city match. Two companies placed a bid or quote on the project, including Total Radio Communications with a $160,669.70 bid and Motorola with an actual quote of $159,053.50, and
• Announcing the Moultrie Police Department will hold its Christmas Party a 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Colquitt County Ag Building.
