MOULTRIE – Colquitt County’s 2025 Relay For Life is Friday, April 25, from 6 to 10 p.m., at the Colquitt County Agricultural Complex, located at 350 N. Veterans Parkway.
The opening ceremony begins at 6 p.m., followed by the “Survivor Recognition Lap.” Then, lighting of luminaria will begin at approximately 9 p.m., to honor and remember all those touched by cancer. Purchase luminaria on-site until 8 p.m.
Forty years ago. Dr. Gordy Klatt’s 24-hour marathon around a track in Tacoma, Washington, sparked a global movement to unite communities to fight back against cancer. The Relay For Life movement now unites 35 partnering countries in one shared mission: to find a cure for cancer and support patients and their families through their journey.
Colquitt Regional Medical Center and Edwards Cancer Center are the presenting sponsors for this year’s event. Additional community sponsors include Ameris Bank, Colquitt EMC, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Crystal Pharmacy, Lakeside Assembly of God, National Beef and South Georgia Banking Company.
“We’re ‘Groovin’ For A Cure’ because we all know someone who has been touched by cancer, someone who is fighting the battle now or who has lost the battle to this disease,” stated the event’s leadership team.
The team also wants to thank people in advance for their support of their efforts and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
“Together, we can make a difference!” the team stated.
