Colquitt golf team sixth
in Neil Gahman Invitational

DOUGLAS – Even without two of its top two players, the Colquitt County boys golf team still managed to shoot a 310 on Monday.
The score was good for a sixth-place finish in the Neil Gahman Invitational at Douglas Country Club.
The Packers will continue to tune up for the April 28 Area tournament that will be held at Sunset Country Club when they compete in the three-day Granger Invitational on April 17-19 in LaGrange.
The first-day’s rounds will be played at Callaway Gardens.
On Friday and Saturday, the tournament will move to Highland Country Club.
Neither Michael Hall nor Cavin Hall teed it up for the Packers on Monday in Douglas, but sophomore Reese Hood led the way with a 75.
The score was good enough for 11th place in the 89-player field.
Sophomore Dawson Lane turned in a 77, his lowest score of the season
The Packers also counted a 78 from sophomore Peyton Collins and an 80 from freshman Brayden Nolan, also his best round of the season.
Freshman Jace Davis shot a 98.
Coffee placed first on its home course, shooting a 292.
Tift County was fourth with a 304.
Camden County shot a 328 good for 11th and Valdosta was 16th with a 365.
Coffee’s Cane Carver was the low medalist with a 68.
Richmond Hill’s Ledger Conley was tied with Pierce County’s Ethan Arnold for second with a 70.
On April 25-26, the Packers will play in the Trojan Invitational at Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton.
