Colquitt B-team, 9th-graders
get home sweep of Cook

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County junior varsity and ninth-grade baseball teams swept Cook on Saturday at Packer Park, completing a week in which they won five of six games.
The ninth-graders scored six runs in the sixth inning to finish off their 11-1 victory.
The freshmen are now 4-2.
Carson Taylor went the first five innings on the mound for the Packers, giving up three hits and just one unearned run. He struck out three Hornets.
Briar Littleton pitched the final inning and did not give up a hit. He struck out one.
Kade Hopper led the Packers with three hits.
Littleton, Tripp Bridges and Cohen Lawson each had two. One of Littleton’s was a double.
Chase Enfinger and Brey Sands each had a single.
The junior varsity team trailed 2-0 after two innings, but rallied to a 7-2 victory.
Jackson Edwards and Tyson Samples led the Colquitt County offense with two hits and two runs batted in each.
Enfinger, Jaxson Dorminey, Davis Wingate, Judson Taylor and Luke Strong added base hits.
Samples pitched the first two innings and gave up both Cook runs, although neither was earned.
He walked one batter and struck out one.
Judson Taylor went three innings, giving up just one hit and no runs. He walked two and struck out three.
Dorminey pitched the final two innings and did not give up a hit or a run. He struck out one.
The junior varsity Packers are now 4-3.
The freshman and junior varsity teams will play at Worth County on Thursday, March 13.
