Toomer’s two first-place finishes
lead Colquitt track team

TIFTON – Senior Bryce Toomer took a pair of first-place finishes to lead the Colquitt County track teams in the Tift County meet held Wednesday at Tift County High.
The Colquitt boys also got a first-place finish from Josh Alford, who turned in a time of 11.39 in the 100-yard dash.
The 4X200-meter relay team, made up of Alford, Ameri Knighton, Dyiquavion James and Jalen Clayton,
also brought a gold medal back to Moultrie with its time of 1:32.25.
Toomer took his first-place finishes in the discus, with a throw of 151-feet, seven inches, and in the shot put, with a heave of 50-feet, 1-inch.
The Colquitt County boys also got a second-place finish from Ja’Shar Kinsey with his 6-foot, 4-inch high jump.
Isaiah Wingfield was second in the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, one inch.
The Packers 4×100 relay team of Alford, Knighton, James and Clayton also won a silver medal.
Earning a third-place finish was the boy 4×800 relay team.
Also competing for the Colquitt County boys were NiShawn Osby, Kamari Fuller, ZaRian Robinson, Michael Stamper, Silvester Carolina, Raheem King, Soomn Willis, Kaleb Singletary, Markeverin Graham, Naryan Spivey, Arbashaun Curry and Kordae Myers.
The Colquitt County girls track team was led by Aziah McNeal, whose 13.26 was good for second in 100-meter dash.
The 4×100-meter relay team of McNeal, Shaniyah Bell, Samari Fuller and MiJoy Richardson finished third.
Other members of the Colquitt County girls team who participated on Wednesday were Femora Ponder, Se’Myiah Lewis, Marley Kelley, Kaitlyn Graham, Kimora Ponder, Ariana Daniels, Ry’Leigh McCray, Jayunna Bradiford, MaKyah Spivey, KuMya Jones, DeMyrionna Harrison and Leah Toomer.
Also competing on Wednesday were teams from Jeff Davis, Lanier County, Mitchell County, Thomasville and Tift County.
The Lady Packers and Packers will compete next at 4 p.m., Saturday, March 8, in a meet to be held at Colquitt County High.
Highland Christian, Mitchell County and Thomasville also are expected to compete.
