Colquitt girls golf team set
to host Lady Packer Invitational

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County girls golf team will open its 2025 season by playing host to the Lady Packer Invitational on Saturday at Sunset Country Club.
The Lady Packers will tee off at noon from holes Nos. 1, 2 and 3.
The 15-team field also includes teams from Lowndes, Smiths Station (Ala.), Pierce County, Tift County, Grace Christian Academy, Columbus, Berrien, Lee County, Coffee, Brookstone, Dunwoody, Bainbridge, Seminole County and Thomas County Central.
Coach Brett Hightower’s Lady Packer roster includes Addyson Giddens, Jerzie Coots, Peyton George, Makenzie Greene, Blair Summerlin and Aubree Wilson.
The annual Lady Packer is the first of 10 events scheduled for the Colquitt County girls.
After the Lady Packer, the team will compete next on Saturday March 1, in the Glynn County Ryder Cup at the Pine Lakes Course at Jekyll Island.
Two days later, the Colquitt County girls will travel to Douglas Country Club to compete in the Coffee Lady Trojan Invitational.
Tift County’s Lady Blue Devil Invitational is scheduled for March 17 at Spring Hill Country Club.
Also, the Colquitt County middle school golf team took second place in the frigid Pine Grove Middle School Tournament held Thursday at Francis Lake Golf Club in Lake Park.
The event, won by Coffee Middle School, was shortened to nine holes.
The middle school Packers were led by Davis Hall and David Herndon, each of whom shot a 41.
Also for the Packers, Wesley Hall shot 45; Ches Redding, 48; Camden Cisneros, 49; and Charlie Newton, 50.
The middle school Packers also finished second in the season-opening Baby Blue Devil Invitational held on February 10, at Spring Hill Country Club in Tifton.
Colquitt County will play host to the annual Baby Packer Invitational, to be held Thursday, February 27, at Sunset Country Club.
