Colquitt boys to play host
to Richmond Hill in play-in game

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County boys basketball team will play host to Richmond Hill at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, in a Region 1-6A tournament play-in game.
Valdosta clinched the top seed in the tournament with a 7-3 record after its 47-43 victory over Tift County on Saturday.
The semifinals and finals will be held at Valdosta.
Tift County, Lowndes and Colquitt County finished tied behind Valdosta at 6-4.
The region tie-breaker gave the No. 2 spot to Tift County, No. 3 to Lowndes and No. 4 to the Packers.
Richmond Hill finished 3-7 and is the No. 5 seed. Camden County got the No. 8 seed after going 2-8 in region games.
The winner of the Colquitt County-Richmond Hill game will advance to play top-seeded Valdosta in the region tournament semifinal at Valdosta.
Lowndes will play host to No. 6 Camden County in the other play-in game with the winner to face Tift County in the other semifinal at Valdosta.
The play-in game winners will qualify for berths in the state tournament.
The Packers, who are 15-9 overall, swept their two regular-season games against Richmond Hill, winning 55-44 on the Wildcats court back on January 4, and 59-53 on January 18, in Moultrie.
Colquitt is expected to start seniors Kanilyn Jones, JaKari Byrd and Quan Kinsey and juniors Cason Harden and Marcus Moore.
Jones leads the Packers in scoring, averaging 12.9 points a game.
Harden averages 12.4 points; Moore, 12.3.
