C-team wins, is now 4-0

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County middle school baseball C-team remained undefeated on Thursday with a 6-2 victory at Fitzgerald.
Colquitt led 2-1 after the first inning then scored three in the top of the fifth to get its fourth-straight win to start the season.
Clark Deloach and Ayden Martinez led the Packers with two hits each.
Mason Adcock, Jarren Harrell, Ty Roberts, Jackson Beaver and Wade Sullivan each had one hit.
Harrell and Adcock had doubles.
JK Howell pitched the first inning and gave up a run on two hits.
Lane Hutto pitched the next three and gave up one run and one hit while striking out six.
Also on Thursday in Fitzgerald, the middle school B-team was held without a hit and fell 10-0 in five innings for its first loss of the season.
Jett Browning, John Tyler Southwell, Dawson Dunn and Gavin Gliemmo pitched for Colquitt County, now 3-1.
The B- and C-teams will play at Cairo on Tuesday.
The Colquitt County middle school A-team scored in each of the first five innings in a 10-5 victory over Coffee on Thursday at Packer Park.
Jaden Chambers and Cannon Clements each had three hits, including a double, to lead the 12-hit attack.
Gage Griffin and Cole Stanford each had two hits. Ja’Brael Williams and Parker Bennett had the others.
Chambers pitched the first four innings and gave up four hits and three runs, none of which was earned.
Burkett threw the final three innings, also gave up four hits. He gave up two runs, only one of which was earned.
The win evens the A-team’s record at 2-2.
The A-teamers will play next on Tuesday, February 11, at Hahira.
