teams sweep Berrien

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County middle school B and C baseball teams swept Berrien in Nashville on Tuesday to raise their records to 3-0.
The B-team led 6-1 when Berrien scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth, but Colquitt held on for the 6-5 win.
Max Bell got the Packers going with a solo home run in the top of the second.
Gage Griffin and Jett Browning each had two hits, including a double.
Dawson Dunn, John Tyler Southwell, Gavin Gliemmo and Braylen Eubanks each had singles.
Eubanks pitched the first two innings and did not give up a hit or a run and struck out two,
Bell went the third and fourth innings giving up no runs, just one hit and struck out three.
Cole Stanford pitched the final 1.1 innings and did not give up a hit or a run and recorded the final two of the Packers 11 strikeouts.
The Colquitt County C-team also jumped out to a 5-0 lead and went on to a 5-4 victory at Berrien.
Sam Lancaster, Carson Summerlin, Clark Deloach and Braston Wilson combined on a five-inning no-hitter, walking four and striking out eight.
All four Berrien runs were unearned.
Deloach had three hits, including a double, and Jerren Harrell had two.
Wade Sullivan, Jackson Beaver and Mason Adcock each had one hit.
The undefeated B- and C-teams will travel to Fitzgerald on Thursday, February 6.
The Colquitt County middle school A team lost 6-2 at Valdosta on Tuesday and falls to 1-2 this season.
The Wildcats scored five runs in the first three innings and could not be caught.
Cannon Clements led Colquitt County with two hits.
Noah Burkett, Jackson Lasseter and Parker Bennett had the others.
Grayson White and Ja’Brael Williams did the pitching for the Packers.
The A-team will play host to Coffee on Thursday, February 6.
