MOULTRIE – Once known simply as The Hunt Dinner, “The Art of the Hunt Week,” presented by the Volunteer Arts Alliance and Lasseter Motor Company, has become an event essential in raising funds for The Arts Center of Moultrie.
This year, event organizers offer four individual events to inspire, educate and entertain. Each event has been tailored to a specific audience, with opportunities for women, men, couples, and kids.
“These events are a celebration of wildlife art, local hunting culture, and conservancy,” said Volunteer Arts Alliance board president Marie Brown. “Each event offers a unique experience with exceptional menus and programs for all ages and interests.”
So, the “Art of the Hunt Week” will kick-off with “Whiskey & Wildlife,” presented by Pentas Wealth Management. It will be Thursday, January 30, at Bandwagon Brewing Co. This gentleman’s event features guest speaker and author, Charlie English and a catered dinner by Joe Kem’s. It also includes bourbon pours, Bandwagon beer, and cigars. Guests will have three chances to win big with a gun raffle, Cuban cigar auction, and premium bourbon auction. Tickets are $100 per person; ages 21 and up.
Then, on Saturday, February 1, kids get a first chance to explore The Arts Center’s brand new interactive children’s museum at “Fawn & Feathers.” In addition to experiencing the new hands-on museum space, youth will also make a collaborative art piece and meet live wildlife visitors from Chehaw Park & Zoo. Tickets are $30 per child, ages 4-10.
A women’s-only exclusive event, “Field & Vine,” will be Tuesday, February 4, in The Arts Center’s ballroom. Always a sell-out event, this art-forward evening offers guests a special presentation and a seated dinner along with wine pairings. Tickets are $100 per person.
Finally, the event that started it all, the “Hunt Dinner & Auction,” will be Friday, February 7, at the arts center. Presented by Ameris Bank, dinner guests will compete for much sought-after, carefully curated silent auction items. They will vie for top prizes, everything from fine art pieces to once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences. They will also enjoy a dueling piano performance while feasting on a wild game-inspired meal and full bar. Tickets are $100 per person.
“The Arts Center of Moultrie has been blessed with the longtime support of the community and the Volunteer Arts Alliance for 33 years,” says Arts Center executive director Joy Yost. “The proceeds from the Art of The Hunt Week’s events help provide art supplies to students and teachers, maintain the beautiful and historic Arts Center building, as well as provide art education programming throughout the community.”
