Gregory earns 3 medals
at Fort Lauderdale meet

MOULTRIE – Moss Farms Diving’s Beck Gregory earned three medals at the recent 2024 International Diving and High Diving Winter Festival Invitational held in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The meet, held Dec. 11-15, was sponsored by Diving Plongeon Canada.
Gregory received silver medals for second-place finishes on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards and a bronze medal for his third-place finish on platform.
Zech Ledl also had a third-place finish on platform.
Elizabeth Ann Hobby was fourth on platform.
Also, in the Packer Middle School Diving Meet, Selah Huante took first place and Moose Thomas was third in the boys competition.
Ruby DeMott placed second and Ansley Lane was fourth in the girls event in the final middle school meet of the season.
The Colquitt County High varsity diving team will compete in events on January 14 and January 24 leading up to the Georgia High School Association’s state championship.
The state championship meet will be held February 4, at the Turner Natatorium at the Westminster Schools.
Colquitt County boys took the top three places in last year’s state meet.
Tuck Gregory placed first and Bo Bridges, who is now diving for the University of Georgia, was second.
Tripp Bridges placed third.
Ruth Anne McCranie, now diving at Purdue, placed second in the 2024 girls state championship meet.
Also competing for the Colquitt County girls in the state meet were, Jewel Hart, who was fifth; Maggie Strange, sixth; and Kendall Deloach, 10th.
Colquitt County’s Carson Tyler still holds the Georgia High School Association boys state meet record with the 878.95 he scored in the 2021 meet.
