The Packers, who scored more than 50 points for the third time in the last four games, will play host to Valdosta next Friday. The Wildcats are 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the region after defeating Camden County 24-21 on a late field goal.

Lowndes, which falls to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in the region, will travel to Richmond Hill next Friday.

Colquitt and Lowndes combined for over 1,100 yards of offense in a game that featured seven touchdowns in the second quarter — four by the Packers and three by the Vikings — which ended with Packers leading 35-27.

The two teams traded third-quarter touchdowns, but the Packers got a 17-yard touchdown run from Ramsey Dennis and a 23-yard field goal from Brett Fitzgerald while finally holding Lowndes scoreless to put the game away in the final 12 minutes.

After giving up four first-half touchdowns, the Packers allowed just one — a 71-yard Jacarre Fleming touchdown run — in the final two quarters.

Fleming’s run pulled the Vikings to with eight points at 42-34 with 1:13 left in the third quarter, but the Packers dominated the final 13 minutes of the game.

The two teams combined for 62 points and 670 yards of offense in wild first half.

After Lowndes punted away its first possession of the game, Colquitt drove 80 yards on nine plays to score on an 18-yard pass from Fann to Landen Thomas. Ryan Fitzgerald followed with the first of his seven extra points.

But Lowndes responded quickly with a drive that started with a 50-yard kickoff return by Fleming.

Fleming capped the march with a 1-yard run. Aiden Andrews converted to tie the game 7-7 with 4:37 left in the first quarter.

Colquitt punted away its next possession, but Lowndes struck again, going 49 yards to score on the first play of the second quarter on a 9-yard pass from quarterback Marvis Parrish to Jaylin Carter.

The attempt at a 2-point conversion failed and the Vikings lead was 13-7.

It was the Vikings only lead of the game.

And Carter’s score was the first of the seven second-quarter touchdowns the two teams combined to score.

On the third play after the kickoff, Fann found Zay Williams beyond the secondary and the pair combined on a 71-yard touchdown pass.

Fitzgerald converted, the Packers led 14-13 and would never trail again, although the Vikings were never out of it until midway through the fourth quarter.

After a Lowndes three-and-out, the Packers scored a second-straight touchdown on 9-yard run by Day’Shawn Brown. The drive featured a key fourth-down conversion at the Lowndes 19.

Colquitt’s 21-13 lead last just over a minute before Fleming scored the second of his four touchdowns on a 21-yard pass from Parrish.

The Packers answered with an 80-yard drive that resulted in 5-yard scoring pass from Fann to Carr, who slanted right to left in the end zone, appeared lose possession, only to have the ball fall in his lap.

Down by eight points again, Lowndes mounted its own 80-yard drive that resulted in a 7-yard Fleming touchdown and an extra point by Aiden Andrews to pull to with a point of the Packers.

But on the first play after the kickoff, Fann got a quick pass out to Landen Thomas took the ball 77 yards before being pushed out of bounds at the Lowndes 3.

Dennis scored from there and the Packers had an eight-point halftime lead.

Carr caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Fann with 2:25 left in the third quarter to put the Packers up 42-27.

Fleming’s final score, a 71-yard bolt, pulled the Vikings to within eight points again.

But the fourth quarter belonged to the Packers as the Vikings began to wear down.
