City Council considers rezoning of property

MOULTRIE — Two parcels of land were considered for rezoning during the City Council meeting Tuesday night.

Sainath  Investments, LLC is requesting agriculture land in the 8th land district of Moultrie be converted into commercial property.

O’Hearn Brothers Investment, Inc has also requested land in the 8th land district be converted, but this time from commercial to residential for a duplex. 

In addition to considering the reading for the rezoning, the council also approved the purchase of several new vehicles for city departments. 

The solid waste department will be receiving a new 3/4 ton regular cab pickup at the price of 44,932. 

A new 35,698 dollar 1/2 ton pickup truck was approved for the water and sewage department. 

The gas department will be looking forward to getting a half ton extended cab truck with a price tag of 40,325. 

Lastly, the council approved a new one ton crew and chassis sign truck with sign body for 752,891. 

No Colquitt County citizens voiced concerns during this meeting. 

The next City Council public hearing will be December 5 at 6 p.m. Both lots discussed in this meeting will have their final reading before voting on the rezoning.
