Herndon named Under Armour Junior Tour Champion

MOULTRIE — Eleven-year-old Moultrie golfer David Herndon was named a tour champion for the fifth time on a junior golf tour when he was named 9-11-year-old champion of the Under Armour Middle Georgia League.
His achievement occurred upon winning the final tour event, the Under Armour Brickyard Tournament in Macon and amassing the most points from tournament wins and placements through the fall tour.

Winning half of all tour events, Herndon was the only player to place in the top two spots in every tournament. He was champion in three Under Armour tour events: Houston Lakes, shooting par; Southern Landings, shooting 38; and Brickyard Club, shooting 41.
He tied at Great Waters at Lake Oconee, shooting 39, and placed second at Lake Sinclair, shooting 38, and at Barrington Hall, shooting 38.
Herndon is now qualified to compete in the Under Armour National Championship in February.
Previously, Herndon has been named tour champion on the Savannah/ Hilton Head US Kids Tour (twice); US Kids Jacksonville Tour; and US Kids Northwest Florida Tour.
He has been a tour finalist in the Montgomery, Ala., and Ocala, Fla., US Kids Golf Tours, and won multiple events in the Tampa US Kids Tour.
He has won 30 tournament titles, earned 24 second- and third-place finishes and competed in many national and international invitationals.

In the summer 2023, Herndon ranked 29th in the Under Armour World Championships; top five in the Canadian Invitational Championship; and top 20 Future Masters in his division.
Earlier this year he qualified for the fifth year in a row for the 2024 US Kids World Championship at Pinehurst.
He is the son of Carol and David Herndon.
