MOULTRIE — Moultrie’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes has added Sony Michel as its main banquet speaker for Thursday night.
Michel, a former University of Georgia running back and two-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, replaces Darryl Strawberry. Strawberry is recovering from a heart attack he suffered Monday.
A first round draft pick by the Patriots in 2018, Michel played five NFL seasons before retiring in 2023. He topped 900 rushing yards in his first two.
Michel played four seasons with Georgia, being named Rose Bowl Offensive MVP, scoring the game-winning touchdown against Oklahoma. He scored 33 rushing and six receiving touchdowns in college, with 1,000-yard seasons as a sophomore and senior.
