Friendship MBC to host Men’s Day Sunday

MOULTRIE — The Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate Men’s Day on June 23 at the 11 a.m. service. The theme for the occasion is “Lean on God and Go Forward” based on scripture found in Proverbs 3:5-6.

The guest minister will be the Rev. Ricardo Pittman, a native of Brooklyn, New York, who comes from a family of ministers.

He later moved to Tifton and continued his path to follow Christ through the ministry of music. Over time, he felt a higher calling on his life and was ordained as an elder under the leadership of the late Pastor Melvin McDaniel of Friendship Church in Tifton, and later ordained as a minister under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Reginald Litman.

Pittman is a graduate of Moultrie Tecnical College (now Southern Regional Technical College). He stated that education is very important, and his main desire is to grow in the knowledge and understanding of Jesus Christ.

He began his pastoralship at Resurrectional Outreach Ministries in Tifton, formerly Resurrectional Temple. Under his leadership, the congregation as well as the church’s ministry have grown significantly.

He is married to Chrystal Collins Pittman. They, along with their children, reside in Moultrie.

Friendship is located at 421 Sixth Ave. N.W., Moultrie. Deacon Lee Braggs and Brother Johnny Collins are program chairs, and Rev. Otis J. Brown is pastor.
