City Council Preview

MOULTRIE — Appointments and term of office for different positions with the City of Moultrie will be acted on with a single vote by City Council members during the upcoming public meeting Tuesday.

Being considered are the following: 

— Hannah Cooper, Melissa Lawson and Marci Meadows for the Moultrie-Colquitt County Humane Society.  

— The planning commission will see Issac Williams and John Barber as their representatives.

— Bud Beaty will be considered for the historic preservation commission. 

— Airport authority has Cecil Barber for consideration. 

— Ian Smith is being considered to represent the zoning board of adjustments and appeals.  

Barber is also being considered as the City of Moultrie Voting Delegate and Marvin Mobley as the City of Moultrie Alternate Voting Delegate. 

Several other items are also on the agenda, including a plethora of budget amendments; considering a quit claim deed to Weston Forest Re, Inc, Project Deuce; the third and final reading to amend the spaying and neutering ordinance; and the public hearing for de-annexation. 

Carlton Farms Inc has requested three different parcels – M019A 002, M019A 007, M019A 006 – land lot numbers 355 and 356 in the 8th land district of Colquitt County be de-annexed and moved from being an agricultural district to being county land.
