County Administrator Chas Cannon told the county commissioners that everything had a full roll-back rate except for the Special Service District.

“The rationale behind that is to kind of keep pace with the cost of the new fire trucks that we purchased. … Or that the Volunteer Fire Department has purchased,” he said.

The millage rates for the other entities are for the Special Service District, 1.212; for the Economic Development Authority, 0.228; and for the Parks and Recreation Authority, 1.484.

Cannon said, “Third lowest in the state, right?” to County Finance Director David Zeanah, who confirmed that it was.

The Colquitt County Board of Education set its millage rate earlier this month at 8.190 and the City of Moultrie set its millage rate Tuesday night at 7.9.
