ARTS CENTER: Summer’s coming!

Published 3:15 pm Saturday, February 22, 2020

As I write this article it feels like summer is already here! But stick around South Georgia — that will change. Here at the Arts Center we are getting ready for summer with a great list of summer camp opportunities for all ages!

Our United Way Sponsored Fine Arts Camps are packed with fun and challenging activities that encourage creativity and growth for a lifetime. Campers will explore a variety of mediums such as graphite, paint, pastels, charcoal, sculptural materials, found objects, and much more. Each week includes art instruction, hand-building in clay, dance & drama, and a visiting guest artist. On Friday from 1 pm to 2 pm, campers will perform their group dance & drama piece and display their works of art in a gallery style setting. We welcome families and friends to attend the Friday events. Camps include morning and afternoon instruction in art, music, dance, and theater. All camps work with pottery. Breakfast and lunch are provided but please bring a snack each day! Our Fine Arts camps are open to students who have completed 2nd grade thru 5th grade. The cost of camp is $85 for the first child, $75 for additional sibling or additional weeks. Camps being offered this summer include:
