Archbold system number of positive cases rises to 267

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Thursday that there have been 267 positive test results for COVID-19 across their system, with 30 deaths. 

The health care system also has had 813 negative test results. Of those who have tested positive, 169 are at home and 32 are patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital.

There are 206 patients waiting at home on test results.

From its Pinetree Boulevard screening site, Archbold has had 94 positive test results. There have been 413 negative test results from the Pinetree screening site. Another 110 people from the screening site are waiting on test results, and they will be notified by their primary care provider.

No patient at Brooks County Hospital has a positive test result. There are five patients at Grady General and three at Mitchell County Hospital who have tested positive.

No resident at either Glenn-Mor Nursing Home or Mitchell County Convalescent has tested positive. There have been 28 residents at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home to test positive.

The Southwest Public Health District is expanding its schedule for collection of specimens for COVID-19 testing in Thomas County. Specimen collection for COVID-19 testing is available to individuals in the following categories, regardless of county of residence: 

• Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19

• Adults age 60 or older 

• Caregiver for elderly (age 60 or older) 

• Caregiver for immune compromised person 

• First responder who is critical to the epidemic response 

• Healthcare worker 

• Patient with serious chronic medical condition such as heart disease, diabetes, or lung disease 

• Immune compromised patients 

• Anyone who works or lives in congregate setting

Individuals who want to be tested can contact the call center from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday; and 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday to determine if they are eligible for an appointment. Specimen collection will be done 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 12noon Saturday at the Thomas County Health Department on Smith Avenue.
