The MGs came out on top with the level 4s and 5s taking second place in the team competition and the level 3s taking third place overall.

“This was a great warmup meet for our home meet in October. It helps us see the areas we need work before then.  Most of our gymnasts are first year competitors in their level. I was very proud of how they competed,” said Coach Jessica Rockwell.

The USA Level 4 gymnasts were in the first session of the day where five personal records were broken, and four nines were scored.

Amber Clifton led the team with a personal record of 35.375 all around (AA), taking first in the 12-and-up age division. She also took first in vault with a 9.375, beam with a 9.1, and floor with a 9.075.

“Amber really led the team with her confidence and wonderful form.  She did an excellent job making it  her record breaking day,” said Coach Pat Murphy-Meier.

Katie Galphin scored a personal best on bars with an 8.65 and taking second in the 9-year-old division. Galphin also took third on beam with a 7.95 and fourth AA with a 33.3.

Teammate Meg Croft in the same age group had her highest score on the vault, 8.675 to place seventh.

Jasmine Moses had the other nine of the team with a 9.2 on vault, taking fourth place in the 10-11 year old division. She also placed third on beam with a 7.6.

The USA Level 5 gymnasts had the second session.

Three of the four competing gymnasts are first-year Level 5 gymnasts.

“Taylor looked good performing the new skills,” said Coach Murphy-Meier.
