MOULTRIE, Ga. — C.A. Gray Junior High School biology teacher Stephanie Summerlin found a fun and unique way to help students deepen their understanding of academic vocabulary.

During their study of kingdoms and classifications, ninth grade students at C.A. Gray played a modified version of Jenga in groups. As the group filled in blanks on a vocabulary chart, they could remove a block from the Jenga game and place it atop the tower. The group with the tallest tower, which would also be the group with the most chart spaces filled in, won a prize each period.
