Williams resigns as Hamilton’s Chamber executive director

JASPER — Karen Williams has resigned as the Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

Williams sent a farewell message to chamber members and affiliates on Saturday.

“Thank you for your support this past year, you and your involvement is what makes this Chamber successful,” Williams wrote. “I encountered many firsts throughout this journey and have developed many new relationships. The experiences have resulted in exponential personal and professional growth and development and I am very grateful for that. 

“I encourage you to continue to dream, connect and grow, making this Chamber the best it can be.”

She was hired in January 2018.

The chili cook-off on Saturday was her last event.

According to Chamber President Susan Ramsey, the board of directors will hold a meeting to decide when to advertise for a replacement.

“I am sorry to see Karen go but I wish her the very best,” Ramsey said.
