Teen burglar arrested after being held at gunpoint
LIVE OAK, Fla. — When Live Oak police responded to a burglary in process early Monday morning, their suspect was already being held at gunpoint. According to a Live Oak Police Department report, the home owner at a Pineview Circle SW residence was standing over 18-year-old Jose Angel Lopez at gunpoint when officers arrived around 1:49 a.m. The report states the suspect tried to open the door on a car in the driveway before entering the garage, where he tried to open another vehicle’s door before successfully opening the door to an SUV in the garage. After going through the vehicle, the suspect closed the door and walked out of the garage and back down the driveway when the home owner confronted him, according to the report. The report states the victim pointed his firearm at the suspect and ordered him to the ground while his wife called 911. According to the report, the suspect had an electronic stun gun in his left front pocket. He was wearing a mask pulled up over his face along with a camp hat during the burglary. The incident was caught on the owner’s home surveillance system, the report states. The suspect allegedly said, ‘It’s OK. I will bond out and be doing the same thing tomorrow,” according to the report, adding that he didn’t break into a house, but “cars are another thing.”
