Man charged in assault on fiancee

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Colquitt County man was charged with assault in a Friday domestic dispute in which police say he attacked and strangled his fiancee.
Deputies were dispatched Friday morning to the 5308 Hwy. 133 N., Doerun, residence of Josh Grantham and Ashley Boyett, who was identified as the victim.
“Around 8:15 911 received a phone call from a female stating her fiance was on his way home and was going to kill her, (and she) was in fear for her life,” Sgt. Katrina Johnson said. “When the offender, Josh Grantham, arrived on scene a physical altercation began in which the victim was strangled and kicked.”
Boyett was treated for her injuries at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, Johnson said.
Grantham, 36, was charged with aggravated assault, battery and terroristic threats and acts. He has been released on a $15,000 bond.
