WORTH COUNTY, Ga. — A Moultrian was one of two men killed in a Wednesday accident in Worth County. Two women were injured; one of them was pregnant and her unborn child died as a result of the accident.
Brandon Keith Bragg, 20, of Moultrie, was one of the two drivers in the head-on crash, according to a report on WALB’s website. Both drivers were killed.
The Georgia State Patrol did not return a call from The Observer Friday to get details of the accident, but WALB reported early Thursday morning that Bragg was driving one car and James Edward Blalock was driving the other. The Albany TV station’s website did not provide ages and hometowns of any of the people involved in the crash; The Observer got Bragg’s from his obituary.
WALB said the wreck happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 33 South near Tempy Road, south of Sylvester.
Worth County Sheriff Don Whitaker told the TV station that Bragg’s vehicle went out of its lane, causing the accident.
Kayla Pfuntner, who was identified as Bragg’s girlfriend in his obituary, was taken to a Tallahassee, Fla., hospital, but WALB was not able to get an update on her condition at the time. The TV station reported that she was 32 weeks pregnant but the unborn child died as a result of the accident.
Peggy Blalock was taken to a hospital in Macon. Hospital officials told WALB on Wednesday night that she was in serious condition.
