VALDOSTA — A Valdosta woman has been charged with kidnapping and assaulting another woman following a Thursday night incident, according to police.
Police responded to an assault call at 7:42 p.m. in the 500 block of Heritage Place, Valdosta Police Department Lt. Scottie Johns said. The woman said she was at a friend’s home when a woman who formerly dated the friend came to the location and assaulted her, Johns said.
The victim said the offender pulled a knife on her, which they struggled over, resulting in the victim receiving non-life threatening injuries, the lieutenant said.
The offender then forced the victim out of the residence at knifepoint, Johns said. The victim was able to flee and call for help.
Cierra Harris, 25, of Valdosta is charged with kidnap adult, aggravated assault and theft-other, a police report states. The assault and kidnapping charges are felonies, Johns said; a white golf cart, valued at $2,000, was reported stolen, the report shows.
