Sheriff’s Office

• Tracy Drew Stripling, 41, 199 N. Langford St., Berlin, was charged Aug. 6 with DUI, open container, possession of THC (a Schedule I drug), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and failure to drive in a single lane.

• Tonya Young, 43, 156 W. Bryant St., Norman Park, was charged Aug. 9 with two counts aggravated child molestation and one count of aggravated sodomy.

• David Embrick, no age and address given, was charged Aug. 12 with possession of drugs by an inmate and felony possession of marijuana.

• Anthony Antwan Williams, 33, 410 Darbyshire Road, Norman Park, was charged Aug. 12 with simple battery (family violence).

• Adrian Seth Alford, 44, 532 Jonah Tillman Road, was charged Aug. 10 with possession of methamphetamine.

• Mary Elizabeth Wiggins, 29, 126 N. Academy St., Funston, was charged Aug. 12 with a drug court violation.

• Ledarious Lamons, 17, 438 30th St. S.E., was charged Aug. 8 with simple battery.

• Staci Willeby Bryant, 49, of Leesburg, Ga., was charged Aug. 9 with criminal trespass.

• Aurelia Tello Martinez, 47, 244 Rowland Drive, was charged Aug. 10 with driving on a suspended/revoked license, unsafe operation of a radio or telephone and failure to stop at a stop sign.

• Thomas Trey Willeby, 50, 351 W. Bethel Ave., was charged Aug. 9 with criminal trespass.

• John Robert Fennell, 33, of Orlando, Fla., was charged Aug. 10 with battery (family violence).

• Timothy David Soliday, 29, of Ashburn, Ga., was charged Aug. 9. with DUI.

• Larry Anthony Grimes, 55, of Miami, Fla., was charged Aug. 6 with shoplifting. Police said Grimes was caught leaving Walmart with almost $500 worth of items he hadn’t paid for.

• David Hayes Jackson, 53, 417 Sixth St. N.W., was charged Aug. 9 with driving while license withdrawn.

Berlin Police

• Faustino Hernandez-Vasquez, 48, of Lake Park, Ga., was charged Aug. 9 with speeding and driving without a license.

Violence

Sheriff’s Office

• Deputies responded to a field in the 3500 block of Doerun-Norman Park Road about 8 a.m. Sunday, where a man reported he was hit in the head with a baseball bat. The man said $350 was taken from him.

• A Sale City woman told deputies she had been struck in the mouth by a man she knows Aug. 11 on Royale Road. The deputy observed extreme swelling to her lower lip.

• A man was injured after helping his sister leave her boyfriend Aug. 11. The man picked up the woman after she and her boyfriend had an argument at their Bonnie Tuk Road residence, according to deputies. The woman then got a text from her boyfriend that said if her brother had gotten out of the car, he’d have fought him.

The brother then wanted to go talk with the boyfriend, they told deputies, so they returned to his residence. The two men wrestled. The boyfriend tried to lift the brother and slam him to the ground, the siblings told deputies. The brother spread his legs to prevent being lifted, and he twisted his ankle and heard a popping sound.

The deputy said an examination at Colquitt Regional Medical Center found the brother had fractured his fibia and sprained his ankle. A hospital spokeswoman said he was treated at the hospital and released.

Thefts

• A refrigerator valued at $300 was taken from a residence in the 100 block of Halls Trail between July 21 and Aug. 11.

• A Moultrie man told deputies Aug. 10 that he loaned a circular saw valued at $100 to a man he was working with July 20, but now the man won’t return it.

• A resident in the 600 block of Herndon Road reported Aug. 11 that someone had entered his house and taken three bottles of medication.

• A resident of Shade Murphy Road told deputies his Chihuahua, valued at $300, was missing. He said a man had given him the dog to settle an earlier debt. The same man came to his residence to pick up his motorcycle, and the dog’s owner noticed the dog missing after the man left.

• A student at Colquitt County High School reported that someone took her iPhone X and phone case, with a total value of $1,245, while she was in the school cafeteria Aug. 6.

• A 2013 Chevrolet Express van belonging to Moultrie Church of Christ was reported stolen Aug. 9 from the church, 1915 Ga. Highway 37 E.

• An inmate at the Colquitt County Jail asked his daughter to go to his residence on Indian Lake Drive and get money from his wallet to pay his bond. He said there was $60 in his wallet. When she got the wallet from his pants pocket, she found it had no money in it.

Moultrie Police

• A 2016 Jeep was entered while parked in the 500 block of 26th Avenue Southeast Saturday night or Sunday. Electronics valued at $700 were taken.

• The human resources manager of a group home on Third Street Southeast reported Aug. 9 that $101 belonging to two of the residents was missing.

Forgery

• A woman on Tallokas Circle reported Aug. 9 that checks were stolen from a drawer in her home Aug. 2, and two had been cashed at One Stop #2, 1721 Tallokas Road for a total of $495.

• A Hawkinsville woman reported Aug. 12 that a check for $850 on her account was cashed in Moultrie on July 14, but it was not her signature on the check.

Moultrie Police

• Somesh Package Store, 205 Fifth St. S.E., reported Aug. 8 that someone had cashed a check for $800 July 28, but the company that owned the account said the signature on the check was forged and when they looked at the video of the transaction, a company representative did not recognize the person presenting the check.

Property damage

Moultrie Police

• A Moultrie woman told police her windshield was shattered while she was visiting a friend Aug. 8 in the 500 block of 27th Street Southeast.

• The door of a city building in the 700 block of North Vandenberg Drive was struck with cans of orange soda between Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. A glass window in the door was broken.

• A resident in the 200 block of Camellia Drive told police the motion-sensing light at his shed came on about 10 p.m. Aug. 10. His wife looked out and saw someone  in the back yard. When police checked the property, the doors to the shed had pry marks and both the top and bottom latches were unfastened. The property owner said the latches are always secured when he leaves the shed, and the pry marks were not there before.
