MOULTRIE, Ga.— A Cocomo Inn and Suites clerk was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint early Thursday. Now, the Moultrie Police Department is looking for help in identifying the suspect.
The incident occurred at 2:01 a.m. on Oct. 3.
Investigator Shavarye Anderson said the suspect held the clerk at gunpoint, pressuring her for the inn’s money.
“Of course, the clerk did give them what they had in the register at the time,” he said. “Afterwards, she made the clerk go into a bathroom area and she left walking towards First Avenue S.E.”
Anderson said the suspect is an older white female with a height of 5-feet-5-inches. The police report regarding the matter notes the suspect stole $150.
Once the suspect is identified, a warrant will be sought. The suspect will be charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possibly possession of a firearm, Anderson said. All three are felony charges.
“We’re just asking that anyone with information please call the Moultrie Police Department,” Anderson said.
