MOULTRIE, Ga. — Thanks to the efforts of Lisa Love, director of music marketing and development at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Colquitt County Arts Center recently hosted Del and Dane Bryant, sons of Boudleaux and Felice Bryant, who were the first two professional songwriters in Nashville and penned such classics as “Bye, Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susie,” “All I Have To Do Is Dream,” “Love Hurts,” and the Tennessee state song, “Rocky Top.”
Boudleaux Bryant graduated from Moultrie High School, and he and Felice lived in Moultrie before moving to Nashville to launch their careers. The Arts Center occupies the building where Moultrie High School was, and Del Bryant commented that his dad performed several times on what is the now the Arts Center stage.
