This year’s theme is “Our celebration now has come to the foot of the mountain, and we are now here at this mammoth moment of our journey to eternity.”

The Mammoth Tea Program was developed and organized under the dynamic leadership of the late Rev. Maceo C. Pettigrew. This special event promotes a cultural and religious campaign in the church and community. It also gives the members the opportunity to fellowship and partner with the people in the community.

The keynote speaker, Pastor Connie E. Scott, is the daughter of the late Walter J. Scott Jr. and Annie Grace Jackson Scott. She received her primary education in the Thomasville City School System. She began her secondary education at Valdosta State University where she completed her nursing degree and has excelled as a ca.

In 2002, Scott accepted the call to preach. She was trained under the leadership of the Rev. James N. Greene Jr. and the late Rev. Uzziah A. Hammonds. Scott was ordained a deacon in 2003 and appointed by Bishop Othal H. Lakey to the Midway Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Thomasville. She was ordained an elder in 2005 and was admitted under full connection in 2008. Scott has also served as pastor at Williams Tabernacle Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Moultrie and Green Grove Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Newton.

Scott completed a three-year certificate of Biblical Studies from the Bethany Bible Institute in Santa Fe Springs, California in 2010. She is an avid reader and enjoys teaching and preaching the Word.

Scott is active in the local and connectional Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She is currently serving as chairperson of the Social Concerns Committee in the Albany-Thomasville District, has served on the One-in-the-Spirit Banquet Committee for three years, appointed a 2018 General Conference Delegate, and serves as a board member at Collins Chapel Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

The program will be dedicated to the late Andrew K. Daniels.
