CLARIFICATION: Highway 133 plans

Published 7:04 pm Thursday, December 5, 2019

A story about the Georgia Department of Transportation’s plans for Doerun in Wednesday’s Moultrie Observer did not contain a time frame for work on railroad crossings in the town.

Five railroad crossings will be removed as part of the four-laning of Highway 133. That project is expected to be let out for bids in Fiscal Year 2025, which begins July 1, 2024. That timing could change, and the DOT does not have a schedule for specific parts of the project (such as the railroad work) until it is let out for bids.
