Cal Thomas

“Wow! I can’t believe that columnist Cal Thomas actually said that Republicans were part to blame for the government shutdown. That’s incredible because normally in his writings Republicans can do no wrong and Democrats can do no right. But I hold my enthusiasm at bay because even though he’s admitting that Republicans can be wrong, I doubt seriously he will ever say Democrats do anything right.

Our voices

“Three million men and women do not speak for the 161 million women that live in America. President Trump is our president and it’s time that we step up and work with him to get our voices heard and respected.

ATV issues

“We have a lot of issues with people riding these ATVs in violation of the law. It’s very difficult for patrolmen to impact this problem simply because of  manpower and logistics. This matter lies in the hands of parents and responsible adults.

Great idea

“I think the idea of city council meetings and county commission meetings being aired on the internet or television is a great idea.

Diversity

“I want to applaud this newspapers diversity on the opinion page. I especially like the fact that female columnists get featured regularly.

Thanks

“Thanks for telling me about ‘gee’ and ‘haw.’ I didn’t grow up on a farm but I’ve heard that expression many times. I’ve also heard the expression ‘This dog won’t hunt.’ Maybe someone can tell me what that’s about. I moved here several years ago and I haven’t caught up with the vernacular.

She has moxy

“Thanks for using Connie Schultz on your editorial page. She addresses some issues that affect the female gender from a perspective that has not always been prominent in our society. And she has moxy.

Bullies?

“Bullies at church? I’m not familiar with that but if it exists then that church has a big problem. Yes, indeed, speak with your pastor and maybe even your board of elders. The one place a youngster should feel safe and respected is at church.

I doubt it

“I doubt you will see any change in the G.A.T.E. cards program. Sure it’s being abused but keep in mind many of those abusing it are constituents.
